This question — should I clean the house after pest control? — is one we hear a lot. It’s understandable and completely normal to think that cleaning the house after treatment might be the thing to do.
But instead of cleaning the house right after pest control, it’s best to clean right before.
It may seem counter-intuitive, but here’s the reason why …
Cleaning your house too soon after pest control can diminish the effectiveness of the treatment.
How Long Do You Need to Wait?
If your pest control treatment includes chemicals of any kind, you should ask your service provider how long you need to wait after application before you can clean the treated area.
If you forget to ask your pest control technician, you should always be able to contact the office (here at Classic Pest Control, we have a policy of getting back to you within the same business day) and ask a staff member for help in getting the answer to that or any other question you have.
And, really, there should be no need to clean the house right after if you’ve cleaned prior. Your pest control technician will safely apply the designated treatment to the appropriate areas of your home without leaving a mess behind.
How to Keep Children and Pets Safe
If you’re concerned about the pest control treatment being harmful to children or pets, be sure to talk to your technician about the specific treatment being used in your home and how to keep your family safe after it’s been applied.
You always have a choice regarding treatment methods. Talk to your pest control company about your concerns so that they can provide treatment that works for you.
